True

This is so TRUE...... The real workout is in the kitchen and that is where I slack at times. I love working out and pushing myself but when it comes to food I tend to slip. Its a challenge but I know I will find my way someday.

Have you Ever?

Have you ever went grocery shopping at 7am?

Well this morning I realize I needed more dog food so I had to make a quick store run. Also, I got back from vacation late last night ( thanks to the damn snow) so I needed some food to cook. 7am grocery shopping was awesome: no lines, no one in my way, plenty of fruit and veggie quantity, front parking, no bad ass kids in my way and it was quiet. I was in and out. Any whoo I brought mini apples (so cute) as one of my snacks for the week.

Here is a pic of my veggies in the freezer:

First day back from vacation and I completed my workout this morning.

Bienvenido a la Republica Dominicana

I love Love to travel and see what the world has to offer. I just got back from Domincian Republic with my sister. We booked our trip through groupon two weeks before. The trip was VIP all inclusive trip to Puerto Plata, DR.

Resort: Confresi Palm Beach Resort & Spa was nice but the rooms were average. In the beginning we had a leaked in our bathroom ceiling but maintenance fixed it. We had a nice view of one of the pools from our room. I spent some time on the balcony reading and writing my thoughts. We had a queen size bed and it was comfortable but nothing to brag about (as long as I had somewhere to sleep and there were no bugs I was good). There wasn't a lot of closet space but there was a nice huge full body mirror (my favorite). We didn't spend that much time in the room but overall the room was ok.

Back to the resort, wifi was only free at the private beaches, several pools, teen club, a pool and center for children, shuttle buses came around every 15 mins, the staff were awesome and nice. Let me say this the staff worked so hard to make sure everything is right. On their name tag it states "hi my name is Luis and I work for you." The staff always greeted you with a smile on their face (Americans need to practice this type of greeting). The customer service was great.

Food-  the food wasn't the best part of the trip. The resort had several restaurants where you had to make reservations (we were too lazy to make reservations lol). Also, they offer an international buffet that was available to everyone. I'm going to be honest I did not eat healthy during this trip ( I prolly gained ten pounds on this trip - no bueno). I ate mostly fried food and carbs (don't judge me) for lunch and dinner. The buffet offered a lot of steak, beef, and pork. I don't eat pork or beef therefore I ate the chicken(fried and baked), turkey pasta, French fries, and rice with gravy. The vegetables didn't look good to me and the fruit was nasty. One thing about the buffet was that it had a variety of different types of food. My favorite meal is breakfast so I brought my own oatmeal with me on vacation. I'm so glad I brought my own breakfast because the breakfast was horrible and limited. Normally, I eat five to six times a day but I didn't bring any snacks so I only ate three times a day. Overall, I would give the food a 5 1/2. I'm not a good critic when it comes to food because I'm picky and a little bougie with food.

Alcohol- once I realized I was going to eat bad during this trip I decided to not drink a lot of alcohol. I had one drink a day which was a rum and punch. I tasted the wine but it was nasty.

VIP status- thank God that our group on deal included the VIP risk band. With the band you had access to other resorts and the private beaches (which offered free wifi). Also you have access to majority of the resort with the risk band. If you decide to visit this resort make sure you get VIP status, I don't want you to be left out.

If you didn't have VIP risk band then you didn't have access to the pics above. Below is where the general population had access to too:

They only had limited amount of chairs.

Here are some pics of Muah in the VIP section:

Beach-the beach wasn't white sand but it was blue and the water was clear. The beach was my favorite part of the trip. The water was warm and I saw fish in the water. I felt so relax at the beach. Now let me tell you people will harass you to buy there stuff and do excursions ( which is typical at islands). Just say no thanks and walk away. My sister and I did two water sports activities and it was super fun. We also took a lot of pics on the beach as well (I love taking pics). Pics are below:

Nightlife- this was my second favorite part of the trip. This resort offered a lot of night life activities. Thursday night the resort had a huge pool party/show and it was super fun. The entertainment was awesome and everyone was dancing and having a good time. The after party was at club ICE where they played hip hop which was poppin. The resort also had shows, we watched the magic and dance show. Both shows were entertaining and had my attention. I traveled to several islands and this resort had the best nightlife experience. Overall, nightlife was a 10.

People- majority of the people spoke Spanish, so my sister and I downloaded a Spanish app. It was a little challenging communicating but we made it work. I always wanted to learn Spanish and being here spark my desire again. At the resort you had a diverse group of people on vacation such as families, spring breakers, couples, friends, and all races.

Activities- I'm pretty adventurous person especially on vacations but I was really on chill mode. My sister and I did two water sports and it was super fun. My fav activity was getting a full body massage on the beach. It was so relaxing and the oil they use smell so good. Below is a pic of the activity board and some pics of us:

Fitness- I only manage to workout one time but I did a lot of walking on the resort. The gym was little and the equipment was old but I made the best of it.

Would I come back to Puerto Plata, DR?

Yes, it was so relaxing and refreshing. Someone recommended Punta Cana so I may go there next.

The purpose of this trip was to relax and free my mind of any stress. In addition, I was thinking about my life and where I want to be in the future. I am so bless to be able to get away ( we booked this trip at the last minute and everything worked out) and I look forward to my next trip.

What were some of your best vacations?

Planning for the future

I am obsess with the future and always thinking about my future. Lately,I've been feeling like I'm not living my purpose. So I created a vision board with all of the things that bring joy to my life. In addition, to the things I want to do in my life. Deep in my heart I know I'm destine to be successful and I know I'm capable of doing more in life. I'm making a promise to myself to work towards becoming the CEO of my own destiny. Through faith and prayer, I know God will direct my path.
